Parent Partnership

Community preschools are run by parents and rely on the support of all the families involved. Parental involvement is something that Yarburgh believes is vital for the preschool to be run successfully. The staff understand that parents know their own child best and therefore work in conjunction with them. This enables the children to settle easily and happily into life at preschool. It also helps the child develop and progress to the best of their ability.

Committee

Yarburgh Community Preschool is voluntarily run by parents of children currently attending.  Without the committee the group cannot legally run and we encourage all parents to join. The committee meet once a month during term time and are involved in every aspect of running the preschool, from fundraising to safeguarding. It is a great way to meet other parents and be involved in your child’s early education.

If you have just a little bit of spare time it would be appreciated. Please contact the Chair if you are interested in joining the committee.

Fundraising

As a non-profit making organisation, in order to keep fees low, we have to fundraise to provide new toys and equipment.  A number of events are organised throughout the year, including a Quiz Night, Christmas Raffle, Easter Fair and Summer Fair.  The events are always lots of fun and help raise much needed income for the preschool, so please support these events.

Parent participation in session hours

We recognise parents/carers as the most important people in a child’s development. We appreciate parent/carer input and welcome them to attend a session with us.

Parent/carers interested in joining to read with the children, play, do an activity of your choice or if you have a particular skill, interest or occupation, please speak to a member staff.

Working parties

From time to time a group of parents get together to do odd jobs. If you enjoy DIY, gardening or have any particular skills, please let us know.
