A Typical Day

When your child arrives for their session we ask that you help them find their peg in the coatroom where every child has their own named peg.

Please leave coats, outdoor shoes, bags (with spare named clothes and nappy changing supplies if required) and wellies (in a drawstring not plastic bag) on their peg.

We ask children (with parental help) to “self-register” – they find their printed name on the board and move it to the “here” section of the registration board before finding an activity to explore.

A typical day at Yarburgh will allow your child to experience all aspects of learning through play, both indoors and outside in the garden. During each session your child will be encouraged to choose their own activities from any of the following areas: messy, mark making, science, quiet / book corner, problem solving, role play, construction toys, small world and the sensory space.

All of these activities are designed to develop their independence and self-confidence. There will be time for stories, singing, physical activities, discussion / circle times, as well as occasional planned activities such as baking or crafts.

A healthy snack and a drink are provided during the session for your child. If your child has any special dietary requirements, please notify a member of staff.
